In 1954, Aristotle Onassis created the greatest yacht of all, the Christina O. A 325-foot white masterpiece was to be the beginning of what we now know as the superyacht. It is rumoured that Richard Burton had once said, "I am positive that there is no man or woman that will not be seduced by this yacht." The royalty and the celebrity that graced its decks would become the stuff of legend, showcasing to the world what experiences could abound on board a floating palace.
Since that time, yachts have grown in number and size, in grandeur and in style. It has become the most alluring way to see the world in privacy, the modus operandi for the exclusive set. Onassis always wanted to break new ground; to seek the modern - and nothing has changed in that respect. The Superyachtset are the new jetset, visiting far flung places across the seas instead, living dreams of wondrous exploration.
